The standard inner brake diameter is 420 mm, with a maximum wear limit of 424 mm — at which point the drum must be replaced to ensure safe braking performance. The mounting pattern features 8 bolt holes arranged on a PCD of 335 mm. Each drum weighs between 50–52 kg, reflecting its heavy-duty construction.

Working Principle

When the driver presses the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure in the wheel cylinder rises, pushing the piston outward. The piston drives the brake shoes to swing outward around the anchor pin, pressing the friction linings against the inner surface of the brake drum. The resulting friction converts kinetic energy into heat, slowing the wheel rotation. The drum’s large thermal capacity and efficient heat dissipation are critical for maintaining braking performance under repeated heavy braking.
