How to Adjust Your Exterior Rearview Mirrors

Before driving, always check the position and angle of the exterior rearview mirrors to make sure they are properly adjusted and provide a clear view of the areas alongside both sides of your vehicle.
There are two common types of exterior rearview mirror adjustment: manual and electric.
For manually adjustable mirrors, a small adjustment lever is usually located inside the door near the base of the mirror. Move the lever by hand to adjust the mirror angle.
For electrically adjustable mirrors, the control switch is usually located on the inside of the door, near the front of the armrest and next to the power window controls. First, move the selector switch to “L” or “R” to select the left or right mirror. Then use the four-way control button to adjust the mirror to the desired angle.

As a general guideline, the properly adjusted exterior rearview mirror should show approximately one-third sky in the vertical direction and one-third of the vehicle body in the horizontal direction. This helps provide a useful view of the areas around the vehicle while minimizing blind spots.

If you need to park in a narrow space, you can fold the exterior rearview mirrors inward. For manually folding mirrors, gently push the entire mirror housing toward the rear of the vehicle. Do not manually fold power-operated mirrors unless the vehicle manufacturer specifically allows it, as doing so may damage the mirror mechanism.

Exterior Rearview Mirror Adjustment Guide:(Sky: approximately 1/3 of the mirror view vertically
Vehicle body: approximately 1/3 of the mirror view horizontally)
